Rangpur chamber protests Bangabandhu’s sculpture vandalising

RANGPUR, Dec 12, 2020 (BSS) – Leaders of Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) at a human chain programme today strongly protested and condemned the recent vandalising of sculpture of Bangabandhu in Kushtia.

The RCCI and Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) jointly organised the programme at Press Club premises in the city to protest desecration of the sculpture of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Vice-president of RCCI Manjur Ahmed Azad presided over the human chain programme participated by leaders of RCCI and different trade bodies of the city and common traders and businesspersons.

RCCI Directors Partho Bose, Md. Reaz Shahid Shovan, Md. Zulfiquer Ali Khan Bhutto, Md. Akbar Ali, Khemchand Somani Rabi, Secretary of RCCI Dr. Md. Reza-un-Noor and other leaders of different trade bodies spoke.

The speakers blamed the defeated and identified anti-liberation forces, fundamentalist and communal forces for desecration of the sculpture of Bangabandhu during the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation in the Mujib Year 2020.

The RCCI leaders urged authorities concerned to take proper legal actions against those who vandalized the sculpture of Bangabandhu to hit Bangladesh and spirit of the War of Liberation and were inciting the crime by opposing installation of the sculpture.
