Rangpur officials vow to uphold honour, dignity of Bangabandhu
RANGPUR, Dec 12, 2020 (BSS) – Government officials at a discussion today strongly condemned recent vandalising of the sculpture of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and vowed to uphold honour and dignity of Bangabandhu.
They expressed firm commitment to uphold the section 4 ‘Ka’ of the Constitution and said that upholding the dignity of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur is a moral obligation.
Officials and employees of the divisional and district administrations, different cadres and judiciary jointly organised the discussion at Town Hall auditorium in the city with Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) Md. Zakir Hossain in the chair.
Deputy Inspector General of Police for Rangpur Range Devdas Bhattacharya, Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md. Abdul Alim Mahmud, Senior District and Sessions Judge of Rangpur Md. Shahenur, Additional Chief Engineer of the Roads and Highways Department Md. Moniruzzaman, Additional Tax Commissioner of Taxes Zone-Rangpur Md. Manjurul Alam, Additional Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension for Rangpur region Abdul Wahed, Divisional Deputy Director (Health) Dr. Abu Md. Zakirul Islam, Acting Police Super Madhusudan Roy, Principal of Rangpur Government College Professor Md. Mossarraf Hossain Tazu, Principal of Rangpur Medical College Professor Dr. AKM Nurunnobi Lyzu, among others, addressed.
Moderated by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Arafat Rahman, divisional and district level cadres officers of the divisional and district administrations, judiciary, police, Zonal Tax Commissionerate, education, health, engineering, agriculture and others departments attended the occasion.
The speakers demanded for bringing those who desecrated Bangabandhu’s sculpture and instigators under the law of the land and urged every citizen to remain alert against evil forces so that such heinous incident could not reoccur on this soil
