ICT training for erstwhile enclave women held in Panchagarh

PANCHAGARH, Dec 10, 2020(BSS) – The training on ‘Basic ICT Literacy and Improving Living Standard of Women’ was held at Debiganj upazila parished hall room of the district today.

The Department of Women Affairs organised the 50-day training course for 83 women of erstwhile enclave to improve their living standard and empowerment on way to attain the sustainable development goals.

On the occasion, a certificate distribution function arranged by Debiganj Upazila Women Affairs’ Office was held at the upazila parished hall room of the district.

The women received training on basic ICT Literacy, computer, primary healthcare, cleanliness, personal hygiene, hygienic sanitation, prevention of trafficking of women and children, creating social awareness against child marriage, dowry and domestic violence, women empowerment and related issues in the training course. Each woman got Taka 5,000 as training allowance.

Md Kamrul Hasan Khan, joint- secretary of Women and Children Affairs Ministry, was present as the chief guest and distributed certificates and cash among them with Upazila Nirbahi officer (UNO) of Debiganj Prottoy Hasan in the chair.

Upazila chairman Abdul Malek Chistee addressed the function as the special guest. It was addressed, among others, by upazila vice-chairman Ritu Akter, women affairs officer Marium Khanom, upazila Awami League President Gias Uddin Chowdary and Tapriganj UP chairman Golam Rahman Sarker.
