5 women get ‘Best Joyeeta Reception’ in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Dec 9, 2020 (BSS) – Five women get ‘Best Joyeeta Reception’ in the district in recognition of their successes in different fields after overcoming various challenges.

The reception were given to the successful women — Nilufa Yeasmin, Dr Hosney Ara Arju, Nurun Nahar, Johra Deel Afroz Khuki and Luxmi Mardy — in five respective categories like economics, education and employment, successful mother, prevention of repression and social development sectors in a function today.

Each of them were given certificates, crests and reception-gifts.

District administration and the Department of Women Affairs jointly arranged the reception-giving ceremony under the programme of ‘Joyeeta Searching Bangladesh’ at the conference hall of Human Resource Development Training Centre (HRDTC) to mark the ‘Begum Rokeya Day’ 2020 in Rajshahi city.

Deputy Commissioner Abdul Jalil addressed the ceremony as chief guest, while Prof Tanjima Johra Habib from the Department of Social Work in Rajshahi University, social worker Shaheen Akter Rainy, Deputy Director of Department of Women Affairs Shobnom Shirin and local unit Chairman of Jatiya Mohila Sangstha Morjina Parveen spoke as special guests. Additional Deputy Commissioner Shariful Haque presided over the function.

Abdul Jalil said the government has taken various initiatives to create a women-friendly atmosphere in the country so that they can play an important role for the country’s socioeconomic development.

Bangladesh has achieved tremendous success in women development and empowerment and has become a role model in the world. The womenfolk have proved their abilities, expertise and efficiency in every field of the national life.

The Joyeeta award will encourage women to face various challenges more confidently and become role models for the society.

Joyeeta Onneshone Bangladesh – an initiative introduced in 2009 by the government — had a tremendous impact on the society.
