Speedy trial of Bangabandhu’s sculpture vandals demanded

RANGPUR, Dec 9, 2020 (BSS) – Lawyers at a human chain programme here demanded to bring those who desecrated Bangabandhu’s sculpture in Kushtia and instigators under the law to ensure speedy trial.

Rangpur Ainjibi Samity organized the programme on the Judge’s Court premises in the city on Tuesday afternoon to protest desecration of the sculpture of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Satmatha intersection in Kushtia.

President of Rangpur Ainjibi Samity Advocate Abdul Malek presided over the human chain programme moderated by senior lawyer Advocate Abu Sufian.

General Secretary of Rangpur district Awami League Advocate Rezaul Karim Raju, its former General Secretary Advocate Elias Ahmed, General Secretary of Rangpur Ainjibi Samity Advocate Abdul Haque Pramanik, its Joint General Secretary Advocate Feroz Kabir Gunjan, District JASHOD President Advocate Rafiqul Islam Mukul, member of Rangpur Ainjibi Samity Advocate Dilshad Islam Mukul, Principal of Law College Rangpur Advocate Sajed Hossain Tota, among others, spoke.

The speakers called upon authorities concerned to take appropriate legal actions against those who vandalized the sculpture of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and were inciting the crime by opposing installation of the sculpture.
