‘Mujib Barsho’ V-Day squash begins
DHAKA, Dec 8, 2020 (BSS) – The “Mujib Barsho” 2nd Mutual Trust Bank
Victory Day Squash Competition has begun from today at squash court of
Shaheen College in the city to on occasion of the birth centenary of
Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
BSRF vice president Rashed Chowdhury, who is one of the directors of
Mutual Trust Bank Limited and BSRF vice president Major Tanim Hasan,
BSRF general secretary Brigadier General (retd.) GM Quamrul Islam,
commodore SM Jamil Wadud Chowdhury, Mutual Trust Bank additional
managing director Syed Rafiqul Islam and Mutual Trust Bank Limited
head of Communication Azam Khan, were among others, present in the
inauguration ceremony, said a press release.
A total of one hundred and nineteen squash players, split into nine
groups, are taking part in the eight-day competition, which is also a
record in the history of BSRF.
The groups are open males (45) and females (07), boys (13) and girls
(02), boys (08) and girls (09) of 13-16 years, boy’s (20) of 16-19
years, teachers of the respective institutions (04) and markers (11).
The winners of the competition, which will be conducted in a
round-robin league system, will be given attractive trophies and gift
vouchers as well as cash prizes to the winners in the open group.
Through this competition, training will be arranged in a planned way
by selecting members of age based teams including national (men’s and
women’s) teams.
The competition will conclude on December 15.
