All need to be united against anti-liberation forces: Rezaul

DHAKA, Dec 8, 2020 (BSS) – Fisheries and Livestock Minister Sham Rezaul Karim today called upon all for standing against all the attempts of anti-liberation forces.

“We have to be alert against any kind of communal activities in our country to make a ‘Sonar Bangla’,” he said while addressing a discussion organised by Pirojpur district administration at Gopal Krishna Town Hall auditorium on the occasion of Pirojpur Liberation Day today.

Pirojpur Deputy Commissioner Abu Ali Mohammad Sajjad Hossain presided over the meeting while Pirojpur Superintendent of Police Hayatul Islam Khan and Pirojpur District Awami League General Secretary MA Hakim Hawlader were present as special guests.

Former commanders of Pirojpur District Freedom Fighters Command Sameer Kumar Das Bachchu and Gautam Narayan Roy Chowdhury, district Awami League leaders and dignitaries were present on the occasion.

The minister said, “We have to be committed again in the month of victory so that no one can snatch the success of the Liberation War.”

“After the brutal assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on 15 August 1975, a conspiracy was hatched to turn Bangladesh into Pakistan again…..the war criminals, including Golam Azam, were brought back to the country,” he said.

“Afterwards, they were established in politics and the spirit of Liberation War was destroyed,” he added.

“Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has returned to the country, re-established the spirit of the War of Liberation and built a non-communal Bangladesh,” he added.

He further added, “Today, the country is developed and prosperous under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina. In this peaceful situation, a section has been engaged in a vicious attempt to destabilize the country in order to destroy communal harmony.”

“Our final victory was achieved on 16 December, but Pirojpur was liberated on 8 December. The people of Pirojpur have to hold the glory and tradition,” he said.
