DHAKA, Dec 8, 2020 (BSS)—Minister Group Rajshahi captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto was disappointed at his bowlers as they failed to defend 220-7 against Fortune Barishal in the Bangabandhu T20 Cup on Tuesday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Thanks to a 42 ball-100 not out of Parvez Hossain Emon, which was the fastest T20 century by a Bangladeshi batsman, Fortune Barishal won the match by eight wickets with 11 balls to spare. The number of unused balls told the tale of how effortlessly, Barishal won the game.

The defeat was the fifth straight loss of Rajshahi in the tournament after winning the first two matches.

“The bowlers bowled badly. It might happen but if we continue to play like this, the result will be the same,” a disappointed Shanto said after the match.

“This was a pretty big total but we couldn’t defend it. We are on a losing streak and will continue to lose if we bowl like this,” he added.

Shanto also struck a 54 ball-109 runs in the match to lay the platform of big total.

“This was a well planned century but I am really disappointed that it came in a losing-cause. If we could win the match, I would have been happy for this century,” he remarked.
