Rahi suffers muscle strain in Bangabandhu T20 Cup
DHAKA, Dec 8, 2020 (BSS)—Pace bowler Abu Jayed Rahi suffered a muscle strain during his side Fortune Barishal’s crucial game against Minister Group Rajshahi in the Bangabandhu T20 Cup at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
Barishal team management informed that the injury is not serious one.
“He is suffering from muscle cramp,” said Barishal physio Joy Biswas.
During the ninth over of the game, after delivering the first ball of his third over, which went for six, he held his left thigh and grimaced in pain.
He was immediately stretchered out of the ground and Afif Hossain finished the over.
Rahi however is vital in Bangladesh’s longer format cricket plan. Considered as Test bowler, Rahi was preparing for Bangladesh’s Test series against West Indies in next January despite playing the Bangabandhu T20 Cup.
