GAIBANDHA, Dec 08, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 200 people of Fulchhai, Gazaria, Fazlupur and Erendabari unions under Fulcharri upazila in the district got cash support from Swiss Red Cross to repair their households and latrines damaged by flood this year.
Sources said the devastating floods occurred in the char unions of the upazila four times this year and this flood washed away and damaged many dwelling houses and latrines.
To mitigate people’s sufferings, Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS), Gaibandha unit office stood beside the affected people and distributed cash support to them on behalf of Swiss Red Cross in recent days.
Each of the affected house owners received Taka 4,500 for repairing the damaged homes and TK 1400 for reconstructing latrines.
