6,400 flood-hit farmers get Boro rice seeds in Jaldhaka

RANGPUR, Dec 8, 2020 (BSS) – The Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) distributed 12.80 tonnes of hybrid varieties of Boro rice seeds as special incentives among 6,400 flood-affected farmers of Jaldhaka upazila in Nilphamari on Monday.

The seeds were distributed in a function arranged at Jaldhaka upazila parishad auditorium under the agriculture rehabilitation and incentives programme during this Rabi season to assist flood-farmers in recouping the crop losses they incurred during recent floods.

Jaldhaka Upazila Chairman Abdul Wahed Bahadur launched distribution of two kilogram of hybrid varieties of Boro rice seeds among each of the flood-hit small and marginal farmers in the function as the chief guest.

With Jaldhaka Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Mahbub Hasan in the chair, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Masudur Rahman, Upazila Vice-chairman Monwara Begum, Upazila Agriculture Officer Agriculturalist Shah Md. Mahfuzul Haque and Agriculture Extension Officer Meer Hasan Al Banna attended the function.
