Mominul leaves country tomorrow for surgery in Dubai

DHAKA, Dec 7, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Test captain Mominul Haque will leave the country tomorrow for Dubai where he will undergo an operation to heal his injured finger.

“Hopefully, I will reach Dubai tomorrow and will consult the doctor day after tomorrow. If doctor wants me to undergo operation immediately, I will do that,” Mominul said here today.

With the Test series against West Indies approaching fast, it is badly needed for him to recover from the injury fully.

He however had to undergo a rehab after the operation. It is still not known how much time it will take to complete the rehab programme.

Mominul, the player of Gazi Group Chattogram injured his index finger of right hand while fielding in the match against Gemcon Khulna last week.

After scanning the injured finger, a serious fracture was found out.

“He needs operation to recover fully from the injury,” said BCB chief physician Dr. Debashis Chowdhury.

Chattogram physio Mohammad Enamul Haque said, it usually takes four to six weeks to recover from this type of fracture.
