NARSINGDI, Dec 5, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) has allocated 1312 tonnes of Boro seeds for the district during the current Robi season.
BADC Seed marketing office sources said they so far received 1311318-kg seeds.
The quality seeds are being sold among the farmers through 115 registered dealers in the six upazilas of the district, they said, adding farmers also can buy seeds directly from the district seed marketing sale center.
Six varieties of seeds are being sold among the farmers. The seeds are – BRRI Dhan-28, BRRI-29, BRRI-29, BRRI-50, BRRI-58, BRRI-63, BRRI-67, BRRI-74, BRRI Dhan 84 and BRRI Dhan 86 and BINA Dhan 18 HI: SL8H.
Meanwhile, Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) has fixed a target to cultivate Boro paddy on 55,300 hectares of land here this year.
BADC also distributed 5 tonnes of wheat seeds, 8 tonnes of mastered seeds, 50 tonnes of potato seeds and 822-kg seeds of various winter vegetables among the farmers in the six upazilas of the district.
