Two killed under train in Kaliganj
RANGPUR, Dec 4, 2020 (BSS) – Two youths were killed under the wheels of a running train at Shantiganj point near Kakina Rail Station under Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat today, police sources said.
The deceased included an unidentified a mentally retarded person, 34, and motorcyclist Rahidul Islam Emran, 25, son of Sadekul Islam Raisul of Dolgram area in the same upazila.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kaliganj Thana Arzoo Md Sajjad Hossain said the mentally retarded youth was killed when a Burimari bound local train from Lalmonirhat hit him at the point killing him on the spot in the morning.
Later, the same train on its way back to Lalmonirhat from Burimari hit the motorcyclist at the same point killing him on the spot in the afternoon.
“Government Railway Police (GRP) Thana police from Lalmonirhat rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies, the OC added.
