Training on RTI Act held in Panchagarh

PANCHAGARH, Dec 4, 2020 (BSS) – A day-long training on Right to Information Act, 2009 was held at upazila parishad hall room in Debiganj upazila of Panchagarh district on Thursday.

Upazila administration arranged the training programme. Dr Md Abdul Hakim, Director, Information Commission (research, publication and trainer) conducted the training programme as the chief guest with upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) of Debiganj Prottoy Hasan in the chair.

Upazila parishad chairman of Debiganj Md Abdul Malek Chistee gave the welcome address.

During the training, Hakim highlighted on RTI Act and its objectives to empower the citizens and promote transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority.

He said the right to information act has been published on July 1 in 2009. The government office will have to bound information to the citizens according to information act, he added.

Different government high officials, union parishad secretaries, entrepreneurs and others took part in the training programme.
