Bangladesh take on mighty Qatar tomorrow

DHAKA, Dec 3, 2020 (BSS)- Bangladesh national football team will take on mighty Qatar in their group E match of FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar Qualifiers round-2 scheduled to be held tomorrow (Friday) at Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium in Doha, Qatar.

The match kicks off at 7 pm (Qatar time).

Undoubtedly Qatar is much stronger team compared to Bangladesh. If Bangladesh able to beat Qatar, then it will be considered an upset but nobody will be surprised if the Asian Champions Qatar goes goal feast in the tomorrow’s match.

But, Qatar must not take Bangladesh lightly and they will fight against Bangladesh considering Bangladesh as their q1ualified opponents.

In the first leg of the group E home match, Bangladesh suffered a 0-2 goal defeat to Qatar held in Dhaka but Qatar had to toil to win that match. In that match, Bangladesh conceded the first goal due to the mistake of their defenders and the Asian Champions left the field finally scoring another goal in the dying moment of the match.

Despite losing the match, the Qatar coach praised the performance of Bangladesh.

In this case, Bangladesh can take inspiration from India which played out to a goalless draw against the Asian Champions. Bangladesh also played out to a 1-1 goal draw against India in their group phase match.

The Jamal Bhuyan and Co. may also boosted by the performance against Nepal in the two-match FIFA friendly series held last month in Dhaka, though Qatar will take to the field with an upper hand against Bangladesh. The two teams so far met four times with Qatar winning the three occasions and the remaining one match ended in a goalless draw.

The booters self confidence level has increased after head coach Jamie Day reached in Qatar becoming free from COVID-19. The head coach will now sort out the strategy for tomorrow’s match.

Bangladesh has nothing to lose but if the booters able to make any upset, then it’ll be a big achievement in the history of Bangladesh football.

Ahead of the tomorrow’s tough match, team skipper Jamal Bhuyan through a video message today said the team’s condition is good now after five weeks training. We have played four matches during this time and the players’ fitness level are very good as well.

Commenting about their mistakes in the two practice matches against local selection clubs, Jamal said any one can make mistake in the team but we’ll have to reduce our mistakes and will have to work on the mistakes…. if we not work on the mistake, then the same mistakes will be happened again. So we talked about those mistakes in practice and we are prepared.

Replying to a question Jamal said, as Qatar is a strong team so everybody would give their best effort in that match and hoped that there would be a good Bangladesh team tomorrow.

Team’s head coach Jamie Day said tomorrow is tough match and boys will try best as per their ability.

He said the boys have been trying well in the last five weeks and credit to them after they came out such a long period of time and the preparation is also very good.
