COVID-19 cases reach 25,825 in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Dec 3, 2020 (BSS) – The number of coronavirus (COVID-19) positive cases reached 25,825 amid the frequent rising trend in the daily infection rate in recent days only in the district.

“The number of coronavirus positive cases rose to 25,825 in the district as 231 new patients were diagnosed with the lethal virus at eight laboratories in Chattogram,” Civil surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi told BSS today.

Meanwhile, the number of recovered COVID-19 patients rose to 20,005 with the recovery of 193 more infected people in the district in the last 24 hours.

“The average recovery rate stands at 77.30 percent in Chattogram district,” Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi said, adding that the recovery rate of COVID-19 patients is currently yet more than the average infection rate.

Among the newly detected patients, 208 are from Chattogram city and 23 from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.

Among the total infected persons, 20009 are the residents of the port city and the rest 5816 are residents of different upazilas of the district.

With one more death in the last 24 hours, the number of coronavirus (COVID-19) fatalities in the district reached 320.

“Among the total 25825 COVID-19 patients, 1701 are undergoing treatments at isolation units of different hospitals after recovery of 20005 patients and 320 deaths while 3799 are remaining in home isolations in the district,” Dr. Rabbi added.
