Chattogram to continue aggressive cricket for third straight win
DHAKA, Nov 29, 2020 (BSS) – Gazi Group Chattogram vows to play their aggressive brand of cricket for their third straight victory in the Bangabandhu T20 Cup as they take on Fortune Barishal tomorrow (Monday) at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. The match starts at 1.30 PM.
Chattogram won both of their matches with quite ease, crushing Beximco Dhaka and Gemcon Khulna, the two star-studded teams by an identical nine wickets margin.
In both matches, they didn’t allow the opponents to cross even 90 runs mark and made those matches a one-sided contest. While their bowlers dismissed Dhaka for just 88 runs, they shot out Gemcon Khulna for 86 runs. Their openers then made a whirlwind start to help the side win those matches comprehensively.
Fortune Barishal on the other hand bounced back in winning ways by securing a five-wicket win over Minister Group Rajshahi. Tamim’s Barishal however lost their first game to Gemcon Khulna by four wickets from a winning position.
When Tamim’s team looked to regain the form, Gazi Group Chattogram’s experienced spinner Taijul Islam said, they won’t change the style of their brand of cricket, whatever the form of the opponent is.
He said they will keep up their aggressive brand of batting and bowling in their third match too.
“I hope for a big victory but it is very difficult to say whether it will happen or not. But the confidence level that our team has now, the way our players are playing, I hope we end up like this,” Taijul said here today.
“All the teams are good here. They will play good cricket too, but we will stick to our brand of cricket, as we want to be aggressive in all aspects,” he added.
