‘Saving environment is our key goal’
DHAKA, Nov 23, 2020 (BSS) – Secretary of Environment, Forests and Climate Change Ministry Ziaul Hasan today said the main goal of the officials and employees of the ministry should be to work for the protection of the country’s environment.
At the same time, he said, everyone should pay attention to the development of the office’s working environment through mutual cooperation.
Ziaul Hasan was speaking as the chief guest at the certificate distribution ceremony of a two-week training programme on skills development of staff at the meeting room of the ministry here.
He said the government employees need to develop their skills through regular training and study, and make themselves competent.
“We’ve to change the traditional attitude and always work with the mentality of service. We’ve to provide services to the people in a timely manner,” the environment secretary said.
To this end, he said, the acquired knowledge should be properly applied in the career. “Inspired by self-confidence and patriotism, we all have to work together for the development of the country’s overall environment,” he added.
Additional Secretary (Administration) of the ministry Dr Md Billal Hossain, Additional Secretary (Environment) Mahmud Hasan, Additional Secretary (Environmental Pollution Control) Md Moniruzzaman also spoke on the occasion.
The certificate distribution ceremony was conducted by Joint Secretary (Administration) Dr Md Ashfaqul Islam Babul.
