Khaleque urges physicians to treat people with care

KHULNA, Nov 23, 2020 (BSS) – Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque called upon physicians to provide treatment to people with care despite limited resources as he addressed a health related workshop here on Sunday afternoon.

Terming the quality of health facilities as much better than past in the country, he said doctors should come forward for the wellbeing of people with a sense of providing service shunning business intension.

The mayor addressed the workshop styled ‘Quality Improvement Secretariate’as the chief guest at Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH)’s conference room in the city.

Health Economy Unit of the Department of Health of the Ministry of Health organised the workshop while KMCH Director Dr Munshi Md Reza Sekendar presided it.

Khaleque mentioned that the governent has set up around 17,000 community clinics, so far, to ease treatment for the poor people while people get various medicines from the community clinics.

He apprised of getting international award of Bangladesh for being successful in reducing children and mother’s mortality rate.

Director General of Health Economy Unit of health ministry Dr Md Shahadat Hossain Mahmud addressed the workshop as the special guest.

City unit Awami League (AL) general secretary MDA Babul Rana, mayor of Jhenidah Pourasova Sayedul Karim Mintu, vice-principal of Khulna Medical College (KMC) Dr Md Mehedi Newaz, president of Khulna Journalists Union (KUJ) Munshi Mahbub Alam Sohag, among others, addressed the function.

Officials of different government department, physicians and nurses attended the workshop.
