CHATTOGRAM, Nov 22, 2020 (BSS) – Members of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) in a drive arrested a drug smuggler with one lakh 48 thousand pieces of yaba tablets from the Karnaphuli river of Khalurghat area in the city early today.
The arrested was identified as Mohammad Sohel hailed from Sathkania upazila of the district.
Ataur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Chandgaon thana told BSS, on a tip-off, a team of the Chandgaon Thana Police conducted a raid in the area and detained Sohel with the contraband items.
Police also detained a trawler from the said area in this connection.
