Golden Monir placed on 18-day remand in 3 cases
DHAKA, Nov 22, 2020 (BSS) – Two separate courts here today placed vehicle and gold trader Md Monir Hossain alias Golden Monir on total 18-day remand in three separate cases lodged with the capital’s Badda Police Station.
Dhaka Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Bakar Siddique placed Monir on seven-day remand in arms case and seven-day remand in a case filed under special powers act.
The court in its order, however, said the remand in the two cases will go on concurrently.
Meanwhile, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Masudur Rahman placed the accused on four-day remand in narcotic case.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Monir on Friday and recovered a foreign-made pistol, bullets, foreign liquor, currencies of 10 countries, eight kilograms of gold ornaments and Take 1.9 crore in cash from his Merul Badda residence.
RAB early today filed the three cases against Monir.
