Train-truck collision kills one in Jashore

JASHORE, Nov 22, 2020 (BSS) – A truck driver was killed and another injured as a Khulna-bound intercity train hit the coal-laden truck on the Murali level crossing under the Kotwali police station in Jashore last night.

The deceased was identified as Truck driver Akbar Ali, 45, hailed from Siali village in Chapainababganj district. The identity of the injured Truck helper could not be known immediately.

Truck helper was severely injured and was taken to Jashore 250-bed general hospital for treatment.

Jashore Railway Police camp incharge Sub-Inspector Tariqul Islam told BSS that the accident occurred when a coal-laden truck from Noapara collided with the Khulna-bound train coming from the opposite direction in Muroli rail crossing around 7.30pm, leaving truck driver Akbar dead on the spot.

The body was sent to Jashore 250-bed General Hospital for autopsy.

A case was filed in this connection.
