Indonesia reports 4,792 new COVID cases, 78 new deaths

JAKARTA, Nov. 20, 2020 (BSS/XINHUA) — The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Indonesia rose by 4,792 in the past 24 hours to 488,310, with the death toll increasing by 78 to 15,678, the Health Ministry said on Friday.

According to the ministry, 3,940 more people were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 410,552.

The virus has spread to all the country’s 34 provinces.

Specifically, in the past 24 hours, Jakarta recorded 1,240 new cases, West Java 872, Central Java 509, East Java 379 and West Sumatra 218.

No new confirmed COVID-19 cases were detected in the two provinces of Gorontalo and Papua.
