CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Nov 18, 2020 (BSS) – A court her today sentenced a youth to life term imprisonment for raping a minor girl.
Additional District and Session Judge of Chapainawabganj Rabiul Islam pronounced the verdict in presence of the convict.
The court also fined the convict TK 50,000 , in default to suffer one year more imprisonment .
The convict is Md. Rubel alias Faisal, 26, son of Md. Faruk of Munciganj Namokanarhat village under Gohalbari union of Bholahat upazila of the district.
The prosecution story is in brief that Rubel lured five years old girl who was playing beside her house on October 27, 2017 and took her to nearby bamboo bush and raped there.
The girl after the rape disclosed the incident to her father who filed a case with Bholahat thana on the same day.
Investigating officer of the case Sub-Inspector Osman Gani of Bholahat thana submitted charge sheet before the court against Rubel on December 24, 2017.
After hearing the witnesses the court handed down the punishment.
