Shahab urges farmers to be more mindful to boost production

DHAKA, Nov 18, 2020 (BSS) – Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin urged the farmers to be more careful for increasing productivity for the wellbeing of the country, said a press release today.

“If we don’t import agriculture produces from abroad. our foreign currency reserve would be bigger” he added.

The minister was addressing as the chief guest the inauguration ceremony of an incentive distribution programme in Juri Upazila of Moulvibazar district, through video conference.

He said the government is working for increasing per capita income to $12000 within 2041. He urged all to do their best to attain this goal.

Juri Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Al Imran Ruhul Islam chaired the meeting while Upazila Parishad Chairman MA Moid, Vice Chairman Rinku Ranzon Das, Female Vice Chairman Ranjita Sharma and Agriculture Officer Md Josim Uddin, among others, spoke on the occasion.

A total of 700 farmers in the upazila got fertilizers and Robi crop seeds free under the incentive programme 20-21 in the meeting.
