Khaleque for proper planning to make KCC healthy city
KHULNA, Nov 18, 2020 (BSS) – Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque has stressed proper planning to make city corporation area as healthy one, saying KCC is working tirelessly to present a clean and green modern city before its dwellers.
He was addressing as the chief guest the first meeting of a project on “Healthy City: City Administration for Sound Health and Wellbeing in the KCC Area” held at a city hotel last night.
Mentioning that Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved Taka 393 crore for establishing modern garbage management system of KCC, the mayor said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is very much cordial about the development of the region.
Emphasizing the need for cooperation of all concerned ministry to implement a healthy city, he said proper and beautiful planning need to implement a healthy, green, clean and modern city.
Directorate of Health, Disinfection Disease Control Programme and World Health Organisation (WHO) jointly organised the meeting.
Khulna divisional commissioner Dr Md Anwar Hossain Howlader addressed the meeting as the special guest while additional director general of Directorate of Health (Admission, Planning, and Development) Professor Dr Mirzadi Sebrina Flora presided over it.
Chief executive officer of KCC Palash Kanti Bala, Khulna civil surgeon Dr Sujat Ahmed, additional deputy commissioner (General) Ziaur Rahman, principal of Khulna Medical College (KMC) Dr Md Ahad Ali, its vice principal Dr Md Mehwdi Newaz. director of the Directorate of Health Dr Md Habibur Rahman, among others, also addressed.
