Women play special role in nation building activities- Khalid
MYMENSINGH, Nov 15, 2020 (BSS)- State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid today said present government has attached utmost importance on women empowerment and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina introduced 10 special initiatives for enormous welfare of the women folk.
“Besides, the government has been continuing distribution of different allowances especially widow ,old age ,disabled , and other welfare oriented financial assistance among the poor women under social safety net” he said .
The State Minister said this while addressing a women rally held at Kumer gata UP office premises in Muktagacha this noon as chief guest.
District Information Office organized the rally for publicity of “branding” Prime Minister’s 10 Special Initiatives.
Senior District Information officer Abdullah Al Mamun presided over the rally.
The rally was addressed among others by Muktgacha Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abdullah Al Mansur, Deputy Director , Department of Women Affairs, Ferdushi Begum, Officer –in Charge of Muktagacha Biplop Kumer Biswas, Kumergata UP Chairman AkbarAli and Nahida Nasima.
The minister said massive developments have been taken place in Muktagacha upazila during the Awami league tenures.
Listing out huge development activities Khalid assured the women that he would distribute one thousand Black Bengal Goats among the poor women of the upazila to make them self-reliance.
Over two hundreds women attended the rally.
