Mujib Corner opened at TTC in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Nov 14, 2020 (BSS) – The Mujib Corner was opened at Technical Training Centre (TTC) at Farazipara on the outskirts of the district town on Friday to mark the Mujib year, the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The corner is enriched with Bangabandhu’s portrait, his historic speech of March 7, photographs of the great leader’s whole life and more than 200 books written on life and works of Bangabandhu, sources said.

A function was arranged at TTC hall room on the occasion with principal of the centre engineer Abdur Rahim in the chair.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abdul Matin formally inaugurated the corner as the chief guest while Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Nahidur Rahman was present as special guest.

The event was also addressed, among others, by district manpower officer Md. Nesarul Hoque and senior instructor of the center Amir Hossain.
Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Matin urged the people to know the life and works of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to get nation-building inspiration in life.

Recalling the greatest contribution of Bangabandhu to achieving independence of Bangladesh, he observed that the name of the Father of the Nation could not be erased from people’s mind as long as Bangladesh exists.

He also said all the patriotic people must follow the ideals of the Father of the Nation and they should also hear the speeches of Bangabandhu minutely.

Calling the students to learn about Bangabandhu’s life and his history of struggle, the district administration chief said “it is doubt that whether we could have achieved the independence if Bangabandhu was not born.”

Principal of the TTC engineer Abdur Rahim said the corner contained shelves having a good number of books written on 1971 published at home and abroad.

The TTC would collect more books on Bangabandhu and the Liberation War to enrich the corner, he added.

A large number of students, TTC instructors and invited guests were present on the occasion.
