2 held with 20,000 yaba tablets in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, Nov 13, 2020 (BSS) – Members of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in a drive arrested two alleged drug traders with 20,000 pieces of contraband yaba tablets from Shah Amanat Bridge toll plaza early today.
During the drive, the elite force also seized a mini truck in this connection.
The arrested were identified as Md Munir, 30, a driver of the mini truck and Suman, 21, its helper, both were hailed from Narayanganj district.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the CID challenged the Chattogram-bound empty mini truck coming from Cox’s bazar district in the said area and detained them with 20,000 yaba tablets around 4.30 am, said Fazlul Kader Chowdhury, inspector of the CID.
A case was lodged with Karnaphuli Police Station and the arrested persons along with the contraband items and vehicles were handed over to the police, he added.
