BKL to distribute seed, fertilizers to 7000 Gaibandha farmers

GAIBANDHA Nov 13, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Krishak League (BKL), an
associate body of the ruling Awami League (AL), will distribute seed and
fertilizers to 7000 flood affected farmers of three upazilas here this month.

The aim of seed and fertilizers distribution is to help the affected
farmers recover their losses caused by the recent repeated floods that
occurred in the district 4 times this year.

On the occasion, a function was held on the premises of Dariapur Amanullah
High School under Sadar upazila on Thursday.

Joint secretary of BKL Bishwanath Sarker Bitu addressed the function as the
chief guest.

President of BKL district unit, Hassan Mahmud Siddique and its general
secretary Dipak Kumar Paul also addressed it, among others.

The speakers in their speeches said the present government led by Prime
Minister Sheikh Hasina is so much cordial to help the affected farmers to
recover the losses caused by the floods.

The government remained by the affected farmers in past and would also be
with them in future to mitigate their sufferings, they added.

Later, seed of potato, vegetables and hybrid paddy was distributed to the
1000 farmers of the upazila.

Earlier, similar programme was also held in Sadullahpur Upazila from where
seed and fertilizers were distributed to 750 affected farmers.

A large number of farmers and political leaders attended the programme.
