CHATTOGRAM, Nov 12, 2020 (BSS) – Thirty people were detained and around 75 people were fined by mobile courts for violating Covid-19 health guidelines in the port city today.
The district administration ordered 30 people to be detained for six hours for not wearing masks at the city’s Terri Bazar and Jamal Khan area under Kotwali Thana today.
At least 75 others were fined in the same operation.
Executive Magistrate Omar Farooq conducted the drive of the mobile court from 10:30 am on Thursday (November 12).
Omar Farooq said, “We have been conducting operations in the Teri Bazar and Cheragi crossing of Jamal Khan area in the city since 10:30 am on Thursday (November 12).
The mobile court realized Taka 15,500 as fine from the 75 people of different professions. In this public awareness campaign, 30 people were also detained for six hours for not wearing masks.
“The authority will continue the drive to ensure wearing masks and raising awareness among the general public about the second stage of coronavirus infection,” he added.
