Upbeat Jamal aims to start with win against Nepal

DHAKA, Nov 12, 2020 (BSS) – National football team skipper Jamal Bhuyan said they want to start the series by winning the first match against Nepal.

“Off course we want to start with a win in the first match…. as a player I want to win …. everybody wants to win the match. The main focus will be on the match day and at the same it has also my mind that we have lost two or three times against Nepal in the recent time but despite those results, we want to win the tomorrow’s match,” said Jamal to the pressmen at a pre match press conference held today at Bangladesh Football Federation Bhaban premise.

Bangladesh will take to the field with the preparation of less than three weeks. Emphasis was given on players’ fitness during the training though the players were hardly able to reach eighty to ninety percent fitness level. But head coach Jamie Day is found positive and content with his boys’ fitness level.

The English-born Bangladesh’s head coach Jamie, who was present at the press conference, informed that the team’s preparation is good and the boys have been doing hard training for the last three weeks for the series and they are looking forward to win the match against Nepal.

On the other hand, Nepal head coach Bal Gopal Maharjan said they want to continue their success against the host in Dhaka venue.

The confident Maharjan informed that his boys went through a week-long training before arriving in Dhaka. He is also not worried in the absence of four players of the best eleven in the team and at the same time he however admitted that there will be some problems for absent of those four players.

“I have already talked to the boys who are ready to give their best to make their place permanent in the national team and the weapon which I have, is ready to fill up the vacant,” added the Nepalese head coach.

Maharjan believes that tomorrow’s match will be a tough one for both the teams as both the sides have an equal chance to win. Nepal is gradually improving and boy’s fitness level is reaching at the top.

Nepal played a lot of matches against Bangladesh in Dhaka. The number of matches which Nepal won against Bangladesh in Dhaka, has proved their superiority and the visitors’ side is not concerned about the local spectators, said Maharjan by adding that they are upbeat to maintain the winning spree.

Nepal will play the first match of the Mujib Barsho FIFA Friendly series against Bangladesh scheduled to be held tomorrow (Friday) at Bangabandhu National Stadium at 5 pm.
