SAVAR, July 6, 2018 (BSS) – At least three persons including a truck
driver were killed and two others injured in separate road accidents in Savar
and Dhamrai on the outskirts of the capital this morning.
Two of the deceased were identified as motorbike riders Shafiqul Islam and
Suja Mia hailed from Pabna. The identity of the deceased truck driver is yet
to be found.
Police said an intercity passenger bus hit a motorcycle from behind at
Aminbazar truck stand on Dhaka-Aricha highway around 8.30 am, leaving the
riders Islam and Mia fallen from their vehicle. Immediately a sand laden
truck ran them over, killing the duo on the spot.
Police recovered the bodies and sent them to Dhaka Medical College
Hospital (DMCH) for autopsies.
Law enforcers seized the bus but its driver and helper managed to
flee.
In another accident, a truck driver was killed while his vehicle fell in a
roadside ditch in Dhamrai as he lost control over the steering.
Another two people were also injured in the accident.
