Govt. working to stop Padma erosion in Naria: Enamul
SHARIATPUR, Nov 11, 2020 (BSS) – The Water Development Board (WDB) have speeded up the work of embankment on the right bank of Padma River in Naria of Shariatpur district to stop riverbank erosion ahead of the next monsoon.
While visiting the construction progress of the erosion protection project on the bank of the Padma River at Shadhur Bazar in Naria upazila here this morning, Deputy Minister for Water Resources AKM Enamul Haque Shamim said the government has been working relentlessly to reduce the sufferings of the local people during monsoon season.
Additional Director General of Water Development Board (East) Kazi Tofail Hossain, Chief Engineer in Faridpur region Abdul Hekim, Caretaker Engineer Shahidul Islam and Executive Engineer in Shariatpur SM Ahosan Habib were present.
