Korean envoy calls on DU VC

DHAKA, Nov 11, 2020 (2020) – South Korean Ambassador Lee Jang-Keun
today called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Dr. Md.
Akhtaruzzaman at the latter’s office of the university.

Deputy Chief of Korean Embassy Cheol-sang KIM was also present on
the occasion, said a press release.

During the meeting, they discussed the matters related to mutual
interest, especially the ongoing joint collaborative academic and
research programs at DU with the support of South Korea.

They emphasized on further strengthening academic collaborations
among Dhaka University, KOICA and South Korean universities.

Akhtaruzzaman said South Korea is one of the leading development
partners of Bangladesh.

DU faculty members and students who pursued their higher education
especially PhD Degree from South Korean universities would act as
bridge between the two countries to enhance academic and
socio-cultural relations, the DU VC hoped.

Lee Jang-Keun said South Korea and Bangladesh are two friendly
countries and have been enjoying good relations for long.

South Korea would provide more support to Korean Language courses
at the Institute of Modern Languages, Center for Innovation Creativity
and Entrepreneurship and other areas of interest of DU, said the
ambassador.
