Muktijuddho Mancha demands closure of unauthorized hospitals
DHAKA, Nov 11, 2020 (BSS) – The leaders and activists of Muktijuddho Mancha (MM) today staged demonstration protesting the murder of Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Anisul Karim Shipon and demanded capital punishment of those involved in the killing.
They came up with a four-point demand and gave a 72-hour ultimatum to meet the demands which include shutting down all unauthorized hospitals, diagnostic centers and clinics.
The other demands include forming a probe body to over the incident and bringing all the high officials of the hospital to book immediately.
To press home their demand, the leaders and activists of the platform formed a human chain and held a brief rally at the foot of Anti-Terrorism Raju Memorial Sculpture of Teacher-Student Center (TSC) of Dhaka University campus this afternoon.
MM General Secretary Al Mamun conducted the rally with its President Aminul Islam Bulbul in the chair.
Former General Secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra league (BCL) and former General Secretary (GS) of DUCSU Golam Rabbani and DU unit president of MM Sonet Mahmud attended the protest program, among others.
Later, they marched towards Shahbagh in a procession and blocked the Shahbagh intersection for at least 10 minutes. Before leaving the place, they announced a 72-hour ultimatum to meet their demands.
Earlier, on Monday, Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Anisul Karim Shipon was allegedly beaten to death by some staffers of Mind Aid Hospital at Adabar in Dhaka after he went to take treatment there.
