Quality multi-disciplinary education stressed to build peaceful society

RANGPUR, July 06, 2018 (BSS) – Academics at a function have laid stress on
promoting and supporting quality multi-disciplinary education at different
levels to develop bona fide human being for promoting peace and justice in
the society.

They viewed this at the function organised by the Centre for Peace and
Justice (CPJ) of BRAC University for presentation of its activities at
virtual class room of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) on Thursday
afternoon, a press release said today.

Vice-chancellor of BRUR Professor Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah presided over
the function participated by research fellows and officials of Dr Wazed
Training and Research Institute of BRUR and its teachers of different
departments.

Research Coordinator of BRAC University Muhammad Badiuzzaman delivered the
presentation on activities of the Centre as Keynote Speaker.

In his presentation, Badiuzzaman said the CPJ was recently established as
multi-disciplinary post-graduate institute within BRAC University.

“The CPJ is working with the mission of promoting global peace and social
justice through conducting proper education and training, research and
advocacy with the idea of a just, peaceful and inclusive society,” he said.

He said, “The CPJ through quality education, cutting-edge research,
training and advocacy, is committed to identifying and promoting sustainable
and inclusive solutions to a wide range of global concerns and issues,
including fragility, conflict and violence.”

Associate Professor of the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies of the
University of Dhaka Dr Saber Ahmed Chowdhury, Executive Director of CPJ of
BRAC University Manzoor Hasan and its Academic Coordinator Shahriar Sadat,
Lecturers of BRUR Razia Sultana, Mahua Shabnam and Kuntola Chowdhury were
present.
