Tamim off to Karachi to play PSL Playoffs

DHAKA, Nov 10, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal left
Dhaka for Karachi on Tuesday to play the playoffs of the Pakistan
Super League (PSL).

Tamim replaced Chris Lynn in Lahore Qalandars team to play the PSL.
Alongside him, Mahmudullah Riyad also replaced Moeen Ali to play for
Multan Sultans but the all-rounder was diagnosed with Covid-19, which
ruled him out from the tournament.

The Covid-19 however forced the postponement of the PSL when the
playoffs phase was set to start.

As Pakistan started International cricket in limited scale, they
took the initiative of restarting the PSL. The playoffs phase of the
PSL will kick-off on November 14 with four teams-Karachi Kings,
Peshwar Zalmi, Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars vying for the
title.

Tamim’s team Lahore Qalandars will take on Peshwar Zalmi in
Eliminator game on November 14. The final of the PSL is on November
17.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said they will arrange special
clearance for Tamim Iqbal so that he doesn’t maintain 14-day
quarantine and can take part in Bangabandhu T20 Cup once he returns
from Pakistan.
