20 held, 42 fined for not face mask in Khulna
KHULNA , Nov 10, 2020 (BSS) – Mobile courts today arrested 20 persons and fined 42 persons TK 18,400 on charge of roaming without wearing face masks in the streets in the wake of ongoing second wave of COVID 19 pandemic .
The mobile court conducted drives in the city’s Dawakbangla, Daulatpur Bazar, Chitrali Bazar areas since 10 am and rounded them up with penalty for violating government order, Khulna Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Helal Hossain told BSS this afternoon.
The district administration led by its executive magistrates Md Abdullah-Al-Faisal and Debashish Basak conducted drives against the persons who were found without mask in the public places.
Khulna district administration on Sunday took the decision to bring those to the book for not wearing masks at the monthly law and order committee’s meeting held at the DC’s conference room, he said.
“We have gone hard line to implement the government order against those who violate health safety guidelines and other rules, set by the government to prevent second wave of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, ” the DC added.
Besides, Upazila Nirbhai Officers of Dakop, Batiaghata, Fultala and Paikgacha have continued to drive in their respective upazilas against them who were not wearing mask, the DC said, adding that the mobile courts also provided masks among the poor people.
