JU students protest over ASP Shipon murder

SAVAR, Nov 10, 2020 (BSS) – The students of Jahangirnagar
University (JU) staged demonstration on the campus protesting the
murder of former JU student and Senior Assistant Superintendent of
Police (ASP) Anisul Karim Shipon.

Over 200 former and current students of the university organized a
human chain at Dhaka-Aricha highway, adjacent to the main gate of the
university, this noon.

Anisul Karim Shipon was a 31st BCS officer and former student (33
batch) of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department of
Jahangirnagar University.

Addressing the human chain, Professor Md. Alamgir Kabir, director of
JU Teacher-Student Centre said, “The video footage clearly showed that
Shipon was killed in a premeditated plan. Police have already
identified the killers. We demand exemplary punishment of the
murderers through proper trial.”

Earlier, on Monday, Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP)
Anisul Karim Shipon had been beaten to death by some staffers of Mind
Aid Hospital at Adabar in Dhaka after he went to take treatment there.
