3 teachers, 33 students get Dean’s Award in RU
RAJSHAHI, Nov 9, 2020 (BSS)- Three teachers and 33 students of five departments under Engineering Faculty of Rajshahi University were today accorded with Dean’s Award as recognition to their outstanding contribution in research and brilliant results .
The award-giving ceremony was held at the faculty’s newly constructed gallery with participation of a large number of teachers, researchers and students following health safety guidelines amid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Abdus Sobhan addressed the function as chief guest while Pro-Vice-Chancellors Prof Ananda Kumar Shaha and Prof Chowdhury Jakaria spoke as special guests with Faculty Dean Prof Ekramul Hamid in the chair.
The award-winning teachers are: Prof Ibrahim Hossain Mondal of the Department of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Prof Mirza Humayun Kabir of the Department of Material Science and Engineering and Prof Jakir Hossain of the Department of Material Science and Engineering.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Sobhan stressed the need for more research on arts, commerce and social sciences in addition to the science, engineering, earth science and biology for overall success of the nation .
He also said there is no alternative to research and innovation on the prospective fields to take forward the nation facing the existing challenges.
