A cop killed in Rajshahi road accident
RAJSHAHI, Nov 9, 2020 (BSS)- A constable of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) was killed when a sand-laden truck knocked his motorcycle down at Choddopaya area on Rajshahi-Natore highway under Belpukur Police Station in the city today.
RMP sources said the deceased was identified as Moazzem Hossain, 50, who has been posted to Belpukur Police Station for the last couple of months.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Golam Ruhul Quddus said the constable met the tragic road mishap while he was going to his workplace riding on motorbike at 10.15 am.
He was rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where attending doctors declared him dead.
However, the driver managed to escape with his truck soon after the accident.
A case was recorded with the police station concerned in this connection, the police officer added.
