51 held, 8 fined for not wearing mask in Khulna
KHULNA , Nov 09,2020(BSS) – A mobile court today arrested 51 persons and fined eight persons TK 6,500 on charge of roaming without wearing masks in the streets.
The mobile court conducted drives in the city’s Picture Palace and Shibbari areas since 10 am and rounded them up with penalty for violating government order, Khulna Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Helal Hossain told BSS this noon .
The district administration led by its executive magistrate conducted drives against the persons who were found without mask in the public places.
Khulna district administration yesterday took the decision to bring those to the book for not wearing masks at the monthly law and order committee’s meeting held at the DC’s conference room, he said.
“We have gone hard line to implement the government order against those who violate health safety guidelines and other rules, set by the government to prevent second wave of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, ” the DC added.
