CHATTOGRAM, Nov 9, 2020 (BSS) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-7)
arrested a Rohingya couple from a house of Chandgaon residential area in the
city this morning.
The elite force also recovered Taka 1.17 crore in cash and 5,300 pieces of
contraband yaba tablets from their possession.
The arrested Rohingya were identified as Mohammad Shawkat Islam, 32, and
his wife Morzina Begum, 26.
Mahmudul Hasan Mamun, Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-7, told BSS that a
Rohingya couple was detained in a raid from a house of Chandgaon residential
area this morning.
The RAB team also recovered Taka 1.17 crore in cash and 5,300 pieces of
contraband yaba tablets from their rented house Block-B of Chandgaon
residential area, he said.
They had been running yaba trading from this house for a long time, he
added.
A case was filed against the detainees with Chandgaon police station, Mamun
said.
