3 bills, six bill reports placed in JS
SANGSAD BHABAN, Nov 8, 2020 (BSS) – A total of three bills and the parliamentary standing committee report on six bills were placed in the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) here today.
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni placed the “Madrasha Education Bill-2020” repealing the madrasha education ordinance. The bill was sent to the parliamentary standing committee on the Education Ministry for providing report within seven days after further securitizing it.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan placed “Narcotics Control (amendment) Bill-2020” and urged to send the bill to the concerned parliamentary standing committee for providing a report within seven days after further scrutiny.
The ‘Women and Children Repression Prevention (Amendment) Bill, 2020’ was placed in the Parliament today in a bid to ensure death penalty as the highest punishment for rape.
State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatunnesa Indira placed the bill which was sent to the respective parliamentary standing committee for scrutiny.
The committee has asked to submit its report before the House within seven working days.
In the proposed law, the punishment for rape is death penalty or life imprisonment.
In addition to this, the parliamentary standing committee reports on six bills were also placed in the Jatiya Sangsad.
