Murad says jail killing a stigmatised chapter in history

DHAKA, Nov 8, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for Information Dr Md Murad Hassan today said jail killing is a stigmatised chapter in the country’s history.

“The November 3 is a stigmatised day in the history of the independent Bangladesh,” he told a discussion at Jaitya Press Club in the capital.

Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote (BSJ), an alliance of cultural bodies imbued with the ideology of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, arranged the discussion on the occasion of the Jail Killing Day.

Speaking as the chief guest, Murad said the assassination of four national leaders in a solitary confinement cell was a continuation of the assassination of the father of the nation and his family members.

He said through this heinous murder, the defeated forces of independence had tried to wipe out the name of Awami League from the soil of Bengal forever, destroy the spirit of the liberation war and make the Bengalee nation leaderless.

But, the state minister said, the conspirators did not succeed.

Following the ideology of Bangabandhu, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has thrown the conspirators into the dustbin of history.

Chaired by ward councilor Chittaranjan Das, the function was addressed, among others, by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Biplob Barua, Abu Ahmed Mannafi, Adv Balram Poddar, journalist Manik Lal Ghosh, actress Tarin and singer Khandaker Rafiqul Alam.
