Govt to take steps to develop poultry, frozen fish sectors: Rezaul

DHAKA, Nov 8, 2020 (BSS) – Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim today said the government will take effective measures to develop the country’s poultry sector and the frozen fish export industry.

He came up with the remark after a meeting with the representatives of Bangladesh Frozen Food Exporters Association (BFFEA) and Bangladesh Poultry Industries Central Council (BPICC) at his secretariat office here.

“We’re working to keep the fisheries and livestock sectors smooth during the coronavirus pandemic. We’re trying to move forward with a dynamic policy,” he said.

Murad said his ministry is working sincerely to eradicate unemployment, create entrepreneurs, mobilise the rural economy and develop the fisheries and livestock sectors to meet the nutritional demand of the country’s people.

He assured of taking steps to resolve the existing problems of the poultry sector and the frozen shrimp and other fish export industries.

Fisheries and Livestock Secretary Raunak Mahmud, BFFEA President Kazi Belayet Hossain, its Senior Vice-President Ashraf Hossain Masud, Vice-President Debabrata Barua, BPICC President Moshiur Rahman, General Secretary of World Poultry Science Association Bangladesh Branch Dr Ali Imam, President of Breeders Association of Bangladesh Rakibur Rahman and General Secretary of Feed Industries Association Bangladesh Md Ahsanuzzaman were, among others, present at the meeting.
