5 held with gold, mobile sets worth Tk 2 cr at HSIA
DHAKA, Nov 7, 2020 (BSS) – Customs officials and Airport Armed Police Battalion (APBn) seized gold ornaments weighing over 2.67 kgs and 92 different brand’s mobile phone sets worth about Taka 2 crore at the Green Channel area of Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport (HSIA) here today.
“Five people were also arrested on charge of bringing those with evading customs duty,” additional superintendent of police (ASP) of airport armed police Md Alamgir Hossain Shimul told BSS this evening.
They (detainees) reached Dhaka from Dubai by an aircraft of Emirates Airlines early today.
The detained passengers identified as Md Amir Hossain, 50, Mahabub Rahman, 35, Abdur Rahman Sarkar, 48, Md Zakir Hossain, 30, and Abdur Rahman, 36.
A case was filed in this connection with the concerned police station, the ASP added.
