Razzaque stresses politics of ensuring people’s welfare

MANIKGANJ, Nov 07, 2020 (BSS) – Awami League (AL) Presidium Member Dr. Muhammad Abdur Razzaque today stressed the need for doing politics of serving people in line with the instructions of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as the present government believes in overall welfare of people.

Razzaque, also Agriculture Minister, came up with the remarks at a special extended meeting of the district AL at the Zila Parishad auditorium here this morning, said an official release.

Addressing the grassroots AL leaders and workers, the minister said in order to make Awami League well organized, the message of the developments made under the leadership of the prime minister in the last 12 years must be conveyed to the people.

“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been running the government very successfully since 2009. She has brought peace and stability in the country by ensuring the security of the people of the country,” he said.

Mentioning that there has been an unprecedented development in all areas of the economy which is being praised worldwide, he said development in every field including physical infrastructure, power, education, health, agriculture, information technology is visible today.

He further said that, “There are some workers who have done misdeeds at their own interest and smeared the party,” urging everyone to be vigilant about them.

Stating that Bangladesh was once a country of food shortage, the minister added, “But today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh has become self-sufficient in food and has been third largest rice producer country surpassing Indonesia.

“The standard of life of rural people will be improved by maintaining the success of agriculture. In order to transform rural Bangladesh into a real city, the income of rural people must be increased,” he said.

AL General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader addressed the meeting virtually with district AL President Advocate Golam Mohiuddin in the chair.

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque, AL Organizing Secretary Mirza Azam, Parliament Members Naimur Rahman Durjoy and Mamtaz Begum and district AL General Secretary Advocate Md Abdus Salam also spoke, among others.
